Tourism Week is over in Batumi Print E-mail

Schoolchildren took part in cleaning the beaches and after that there were excursions to the national parks of Adjara.  Students of the faculty of design at the University of Art presented costume models and a student orchestra was playing on Piazza square.


“We invited about 90 children from orphanages and poor families. During four days they were making kites. When all the kites were launched into the sky whole Batumi admired a spectacular show”, - the coordinator of the project says.


The Week of tourism ended on June 3with a concert on Piazza square. The organizers of the campaign emphasized that “even London starts holding a week of tourism and we hope that this event will become a good tradition for Batumi”.


According to the data of Tourism Department of Adjara 239 742 people have already visited the region this year, this is 61, 7% more than in 2011(148 267 ) and 203% more than in 2010 (79 113 visitors).
